The Best Homemade Pizza Dough in Less than 30 Minutes

This pizza dough uses instant yeast, which drastically cuts down the rising time so that you can have homemade pizza faster than delivery! Makes 2 10" pizzas.

For the pizza dough
- 3 cups bread flour
- 1 3/4 tsp instant yeast
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp honey or sugar
- 1 cup plus 1 TBSP warm water
- 2 TBSP extra virgin olive oil
- semolina flour or cornmeal
For the pizza sauce
- 1 can tomato sauce
- salt to taste
- red pepper flakes
- 1 TBSP extra virgin olive oil
Toppings
- mozzarella cheese
- any other desired toppings
Prepare the dough
Whisk together the dry ingredients together in a large bowl (flour, yeast, sea salt).
Mix together the liquid ingredients (water, honey, and olive oil).
Pour the liquid ingredients into the flour mixture.
Mix ingredients together and then knead for a few minutes until a smooth dough forms.
Let the dough rest under a bowl for 20 minutes.
Shape the pizzas
Cut the dough in half with a sharp non-serrated knife or pastry cutter and form them into balls. Leave one ball under the bowl.
Sprinkle some semolina flour or cornmeal over a cutting board or pizza peel.
Press the dough down in a circle shape with your fingertips, and then stretch the dough with your hands in a circular motion (see video).
Spread sauce over pizza and top with mozzarella cheese and any other desired toppings.
Allow the pizza to rest another 10-15 minutes.
